Burnley to Avoid Relegation Odds

The football pundits have made there mind up little old Burnley Will drop like a stone according to most. But I tell you this Owen Coyles men will go about there business quietly. A team already established with a winning mentality will not be easy to beat.

Coyles team will run until they drop and with the likes of Chris Eagles, Wade Elliott, Robbie Blake, Martin Paterson and Steven Fletcher they have a good chance of scoring the goals to keep them in the premiership for one more season.

I am going to go out on a limb and make what could be called a ridiculous statement but I feel Burnley will finish comfortbale in there first season .They are a match already for the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Bolton, Wigan to name but a few.

Coyles stock will rise and he will establish himself as the No 1 up and coming Scottish manager.

Why not place a bet at Betfair and lay against Burnley gettting relegated this season I certainly will be .

St Johnstone Match Report – Scott Arfield Link

It was a still day at Perth the Kevin Mcdonald Gang were in full force from carnoustie. In there pale blue t-shirts and Kilts they really livened up what was to be fair a dull fixture.

It was the clarets that looked the most likely to score through the game new signing fernando guererro took too long on the ball on a few occasions and tried to beat one man too many when a early shot would have been a better option.

Interestingly in the crowd was Falkirks Scottish under 21 international Scott Arfield. Already linked with the clarets after a quick chat and following the slow game I asked him if he would be interested in moving to Burnley.

He didn’t say no and just smiled back so if you ask me if the opportunity came to join Burnley in the Premiership I could see him saying no. But centre midfield is one position that we have found to be very strong with Chris Mccann and Kevin Mcdonald.

I would be very keen to see him pull on a claret and blue shirt funnily enough Arfield is one of the First players I sign on my Football Manager simulation game for Burnley .

Scott Arfield at the Game.

St Johnstone were impressive especially Jody Morris the former Chelsea and Leeds man looked impressive pulling the strings in midfield. But 1 Nil to St Johnston was fair enough and thank goodness that is the back of Pre Season friendlies for another season.

Also at the game was fellow claret Alex Mcdonald he starts his loan move with Falkirk and we wish him all the best .

Manchester City are priced at 400/1 to win the domestic treble this season.

With the recent addition of Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez, Emanuelle Adebayor and Kolo Toure and with a promise of more to come and with no European football to worry about this is a fantastic price and well worth a £10 bet.

It Looks Like 3 more Transfers at the Turf

Following a great debut from trialist Fernando Guerrero it is looking like he will make up a trio of players heading to Turf more in the next few weeks once the clarets have returned from there Pre season training in the USA.

The other two players are Marcus Tudgay who is set to hand in a transfer request with Sheffield Wednesday if needed to get his chance in the Premiership. The final being Darrel Russell from Norwich a player Coyle tried to sign last season.

Man United Strikers – Owen , Berbatov, Rooney, Wellbeck, Macheada

Man City Strikers – Tevez, Adebayor, Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Robinho, Bojinov, Caicedo, Evans , Benjani and Jo on loan to Everton

Looks pritty conclusive to me City have a better set of strikers.

Ecuador Internation Left Winger Fernando Guerrero is set to join Burnley in a £2 million move from the Ecuador 2nd division.

A former Real Madrid reserve player Guerrero is set to join following the failure in the clarets quest to sign Hearts Winger Andrew Driver.

Coyle added – “It doesn’t matter if they’re Scottish, Welsh, English or Irish, whatever they are … Ecuadorian. If they’re good enough to play we’d be interested in bringing them on board.”

Richard Eckersley Joins From United

Turning down contracts from Manchester United this is something only Carlos Teves does right ?

Wrong United’s Reserve Team Player of the year Richard Eckersley has done just that to Join Owen Coyle Premiership Burnley. A signing that was quite a surprise considering the recent signing or Right back Tyrone Mears but Coyle is looking for real competition for places and see’s last seasons right back Michael Duff as more of a centre back by trade.

Pace is the big thing Coyle has tried to inject into the Burnley Squad and he has done that with 5 young signings so far. Edgar, Eckersley, Mears, Fletcher and Brian Easton the young Scottish Left back.

He is building a team not just for next season but for the future and has continued the clubs policy of investing in young talents.

One player still on the radar is Sheffield Wednesdays Marcus Tudgay but Wednesday have spat the dummy out with the latest official Bid from Burnley. It was seen as a derisor offer Coyle added

“We made an offer of £1.5 million, plus add-ons, for Marcus Tudgay. That was inviting – it was rejected. At no time have we looked to unsettle the player. We made what we thought was a fair offer for a player who has only a year to go on his contract.”

He added: “It was turned down – Sheffield Wednesday felt fit to do that. I have no problem with that. If they want to say anything to besmirch the good name of Burnley that is entirely up to them.

“I am not going to get caught up in anything negative about their club. They are a fantastic club, steeped in history and tradition.

“I am not going to get caught up in tit for tat. We know how we work. I have never had a problem with anyone else.”

Well said indeed Mr Coyle we will have to keep our eyes peeled for further details as I for one can see player power beating Sheffield Wednesdays atteps of keeping the player a Hillsborough next season.
